Our History

Migration is the biggest menace Uttrakhand is dealing with.  Because of the menace it is called “Money Order Economy”.  For migration there are numbers of reasons, the prominent ones are:-

  1. Lack of quality schooling,
  2. Absence of medical facilities and willing medical staff,
  3. Lack of skilling opportunities,
  4. Absence of employment opportunities &
  5. Harsher living conditions.

Herald Junior Academy is an initiative to address the primary reason of lack of quality schooling to the less privileged children of PAHAR and inculcating moral values in them.  It is a non-profit Organisation, devoted to the field of quality education in Ghandiyal in particular and in Kaljikhal Block of Pauri Distt in general.  It was founded in 1984 by its founder Shri Sushil Gusain, S/o – Late Shri Jagat Singh Gusain, Vill-Dangu, Development Area Kaljikhal, District Pauri Garhwal.

Initially the school was from Nursery to Vth  Std till 2000.  In 2001, late Shri Dhirendra Singh Rawat, S/o – Late Shri Sultan Singh Rawat, Village – Olna, Development Area Kaljikhal, became the President of the society and got it upgraded upto VIII Std after obtaining recognition from state education board.  Simultaneously a society was formed with 07 members and it was got registered under Societies Registration Act 1860.

Subsequently in 2003 on resignation of old committee a new committee under the able guidance of  Smt Anita Gusain was formed.  The committee ran the school upto August 2018.  Afterwards the committee members resigned due to their pre-occupation with domestic/individual work.  They were not able to devote their time in the functioning of the school, thereby hampering the management and supervision of the school.
